House Policies

Please ensure you adhere to the rules of the holiday rental. The rules are made to protect the guests and interest of the host and the neighbouring community.

  • Check in is between 2pm and 6pm. Check out at 11am.

  • Late check outs will cost R300 per hour. Late check ins R100 per hour unless by prior arrangement.

  • There is No Smoking inside the house or under any of the awnings.

  • Unfortunately, pets are not accepted.

  • Please don't feed the monkeys.

  • The guest house is self-catering.

  • Wi-Fi is free, but not for live streaming.

  • The owner lives on site and is always present.

Payment

​

  • Once you book, you will be asked to pay via ETF. Banking details will be emailed to you.

​

Visitors

​​

  • The number of visitors allowed if you book a suite is 2 which includes children, and 10 including children if you book the whole house. Any number of visitors over the abovementioned 2 and 10, entering the premises, will be charged R250 per visitor.

  • All visitors must leave the premises by 10pm. Visitors leaving after 10pm will be required to pay R500 per visitor.

Parties

​

  • This is not a party house. It is here for you to have a wonderful time. All music must be turned right down by 10pm and off by 12pm. To this end, the neighbourhood watch is instructed to enter the premises to enforce this rule if it is abused.

  • No functions are allowed without prior agreement.

  • There shall be no bachelor or bachelorette parties.

  • No noise such as shouting and loud music shall be allowed inside or outside the house. 

  • No excessive drinking and arguing or walking around the house with a drink in your hand.

Room service

​

  • My staff are wonderful and we consider ourselves as being one big family. They will gladly assist you with anything reasonable. Obed has been driving me to functions for years. You are free to negotiate a deal with him and utilise his services.

  • The downstairs part of the house will be cleaned each morning by about 9:30 am.

  • During week days I ask that you give access to your room for the staff to clean it before 12pm and over weekends before 10am. You can of course elect not to have your room serviced.

  • If you leave on a Sunday or a public holiday the house may not be serviced.

  • For suite only bookings I as the owner occupy the Ripley room. For whole house bookings I may elect to leave the premises and stay elsewhere or occupy a room that has an outside entrance. I don’t enter into the home in this situation I respect your privacy and indeed mine.

Savoir-faire
 

  • Please be considerate towards other guests.

  • If you like your own house treat this house as though it were your house.

  • Please bring beach towels to use the pool. 

  • Please look after your children, especially near the pool they are your responsibility.

  • Our dress code is costumes and comfortable shorts without a shirt are welcome, but sadly bath towels are not clothing and cannot be used as such outside of your room.
